Haslemere Educational Museum will celebrate Earth Day this weekend with a day of fun and learning.

Everyone is welcome to come along from 10.30am to 1pm on Saturday (April 20) and see the stalls, displays and children’s activities from organisations including the RSPB, the Woodland Trust and the Wildlife Aid Foundation, as well as museums such as the Rural Life Living Museum.

Highlights will include the chainsaw sculpted totem pole inspired by last year’s Wild Surrey Project, and a sale of preloved clothes to promote reusing and preventing landfill.

There is no entrance fee and the café will be open.

Earth Day began in 1970 in the United States, and now sees millions of people across the globe gather to celebrate the environmental movement.

It takes place every year on April 22, but Haslemere Museum will hold its event two days earlier this Saturday.

People can bring donations of clean clothing and good quality (no shoes or accessories) to the museum on the days prior to Saturday for the pre-loved sale.

The clothing sale runs until 1pm.
