Emergency services have confirmed a man was found dead at Petersfield Railway Station yesterday evening.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.34pm last night to reports of a person being struck by a train.

“An ambulance team, a rapid response team and ambulance officer were sent to the incident but one patient was found deceased at the scene.”

Train lines were closed between Havant and Haslemere while emergency services attended but services got back to normal later in the evening.
