Newbury Building Society in Alton has given Alton Foodbank a £4,060.09 Christmas present.
It marks the end of a long partnership between the foodbank and the building society. Branch staff and members have voted to support Dementia-friendly Alton from the start of 2024.
The foodbank money was raised by sales of the society’s calendar, donations by customers, support by savings customers with the society’s charity account, and a donation by the society.
Manager Julie Harness gave the cheque to foodbank project manager Sian Mills. She said: “I am absolutely delighted to present this cheque to Alton Foodbank, whose vital work in the local area we have been so proud to support for a number of years.
"Although we are moving on to a new charity partnership with Dementia-friendly Alton, we have so enjoyed raising funds for the foodbank.”
