CAFÉ users won’t be forced into a quick bite because of new parking restrictions at a Horndean supermarket.
A two-hour time limit was recently introduced at Morrisons to deter car meets and anti-social driving.
But the enforcement has reputedly dissuaded people from spending time in the store café, as some are fearful of getting a fine.
People who attended a recent Horndean Parish Council meeting have been assured that longer stays are possible.
Shoppers who expect to be in-store longer than two hours should give their car registration details to Customer Services, and staff will make sure users don’t get a ticket.
Villagers also heard at the meeting that HPC will deploy speed cameras at approved locations around the parish for the next five years through a district council scheme.
The Speed Indicator Device infrastructure is also being upgraded to paint a better picture of hotspots around Horndean, Catherington and Lovedean.
