Police believe a burglar who stole jewellery from a house in Petersfield in mid-August may have targeted other homes around south east Hampshire.

Detectives investigating a spate of burglaries around the A3 corridor have released a picture of a silver three-door Audi S3 which they believe is connected.

Doorbell or dashcam footage is being sought as the vehicle has been seen close to four properties which have been burgled over the last month.

Jewellery was stolen from a house in Love Lane around 8.30pm on Sunday, August 18, just hours after the driver of the Audi was spotted “acting suspiciously” in Purbrook.

The same vehicle has also been linked to a burglary in Fareham as jewellery worth more than £10,000 was stolen after a house on Grindall Field was broken into sometime between 9am and 10am on Friday, August 16.

Jewellery and cash were stolen from a house on Scratchface Lane in Bedhampton on the same morning while the Audi has also been linked to a burglary close to midnight on August 25 in Waterlooville with cash being stolen from a house on Plant Farm Crescent.

Police strongly believe the incidents are linked and have asked anyone who may have seen the Audi since August 16 to get in touch.
