A FIRST-time author from Hill Brow will hold a book signing this Saturday to celebrate the launch of his first book in Petersfield.

Christopher Birkett has completed The Story of Two Little Chicks just in time for Easter.

The book is a children’s story which follows the lives of two little chicks which were separated at birth and go on to lead very different lives.

Christopher is also the landlord of the Flying Bull Inn at Rake, and it was a chance conversation at work which provided him with the inspiration to write his first book.

Christopher said: “We have always kept chickens at the pub, and hatched our chicks, but you do get occasions when they don’t hatch.

“After a chance conversation over the bar with a local about this, and a bit of gentle persuasion, suddenly a story formulated, culminating in me committing pen to paper last year.”

The book is available at both of Petersfield’s independent book shops and online through Xlibris and Amazon.

Christopher will be at the Petersfield Bookshop in Chapel Street from 11am to 1pm on Saturday.
