The Horndean community were treated to an unforgettable afternoon with an Olympic Icon.

Residents and community members gathered at Jubilee Hall in Waterlooville on October 31 for a Q&A with Michael Edwards—better known as Eddie the Eagle.

Hosted by Blendworth Hills Retirement Village, Eddie shared his inspirational journey and recounted his remarkable path to the Olympics. Including the challenges he faced and the uplifting story behind his popular biographical film.

Jackie Usher, director of operations at Blendworth Hills, commented: “It was a pleasure to host Eddie the Eagle, who brought such warmth and inspiration to our community.

“His story is a testament to resilience, and we are thrilled that both our future residents and local guests could enjoy such a motivational experience.”

Following the Q&A, guests had the opportunity to learn more about the state-of-the-art amenities that Blendworth Hills will offer upon its opening later this year.
