PETERSFIELD’S outdoor carol service in the town square hit a high note with a record turnout.
Organised by the Petersfield Area Churches Together (PACT) group of local churches, the service on Thursday, December 22, raised money for two local charities.
Before the service PACT carols singers also toured the town, stopping off to sing carols, said Simon and Helen Mason of PACT.
Simon added: “The service was extremely well attended although it was cold, the Salvation Army band played superbly and many people enjoyed coming together, singing favourite carols and hearing the Christmas story again. We also raised substantial amounts of money for Homestart Butser and the Petersfield Counselling service. It’s a wonderful annual town event.
A collection for the two charities was taken after the service, and mince pies, tea and coffee was served.
