THERE were many culture shocks in store when Bohunt students headed to China for a cultural exchange.

One was the length of the school day with the average Chinese pupil starting before 7am and ending around 6pm.

There were two hours extra homework a night too which meant studying went on until much later than the pupils from the Liphook school were used to.

All the 25 students on the two-week trip, who travelled with three teachers to strengthen Bohunt’s extensive Chinese links, said though that it was an unforgettable experience.

They loved staying with host families, learning and speaking Mandarin, travelling on a ‘bullet train’, and eating a variety of interesting foods.
