AN EVENT which could lead to hundreds of extra homes between Rowlands Castle and Horndean will be held in a school this weekend.

East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) has launched a consultation on which large scale developments should be included in the Draft Local Plan. Sites at Bentley and Whitehill have been provisionally earmarked for 2,000 homes but eight others – including an expansion of the Land East of Horndean development – are being considered.

People can learn more when a drop-in session takes place from 10am to 2pm this Saturday at Barton Hall in Horndean.

Residents who do comment have been urged to make their points “positive” and “planning based” as simple objections will not carry much weight in the final decision.
