The party is coming to an end for a popular menswear shop which has brought ska, soul and scooters to Petersfield – with another landmark shop on The Square also closing its doors.
The mod squad took over Petersfield town centre last weekend for the now-annual Scooter Sunday event.
But the get-together was a bittersweet one for everyone involved in The Five-Fifteen, as the shop off central car park is closing after nearly a decade in town.
Owner Martyn Constable – who has played a big part in the success of Scooter Sunday – hasn’t given a final closure date but the store will be holding a clearance sale for the near to medium future.
Another much-loved Petersfield store is also set to close with ever-increasing running costs and difficult trading conditions being cited by Gillie G’s.
Bosses at the shop, which has been a mainstay on The Square for seven years, are looking for a smaller premises but anticipate an end-of-year closure if nothing is found.
