Pupils from Badshot Lea Village Infant School visited their local Squire’s Garden Centre to give their views on a range of cakes.
Squire’s had enlisted the help of the young expert cake tasters to help choose which bake to serve customers in its café bars as its special limited edition coronation cake.
The range of cakes received big thumbs up, so much so that Squire’s has decided to offer customers a choice of two cakes for the royal occasion – Coronation Chocolate Cake, a rich, indulgent sweet treat, and Strawberry Crown, a buttery and light coronation sponge.
Gemma Ball, Badshot Lea Village Infant School headteacher, said: “It was a brilliant opportunity for the children to visit Squire’s as they are getting very excited about the upcoming coronation and so it was great to be part of choosing cakes for the momentous royal occasion. The pupils certainly enjoyed being invited to be taste testers.”
Squire’s Badshot Lea restaurant manager Cheryl Deepchand said: “What a brilliant bunch of little tasters. The pupils from Badshot Lea Infants were a great help with their views on the selection of cakes put to the test – they have high standards and are very discerning.”
