Pupils from Greatham Primary School were among those from across the district who took charge at East Hampshire District Council to get an insight into work on National Takeover Day.
Around 300 children toured the council offices at Penns Place in Petersfield and found out all about more than 100 services provided by the council.
They also took part in special activities such as holding debates in the council chamber and taking on a recycling challenge.
Other schools visiting between November 18 and 22 were Herne Junior School, and Four Marks, St Mary’s Bentworth, Sheet, Langrish and Grayshott primary schools.
