OLYMPICS-inspired artwork created by all 103 pupils at Selborne Primary School has been judged runner-up in a national competition.

Their building site hoarding was officially unveiled at Hazeley Development’s Southbrook housing scheme in the village, with the children awarded medals, certificates and prizes. The Ivor Goodsite Hoarding Competition, set up by the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme, was devised to bring an element of fun to the serious topic of educating children about the dangers of building sites.

Selborne teacher Mandie Awford, one of those co-ordinating the project, said:?“The children have had a huge amount of fun decorating the hoarding and have been getting their families and local businesses involved too. They are so proud of the work.”
