A PETERSFIELD youngster who is deaf has spent two days at a prestigious arts centre rehearsing for and appearing in a drama showcase.
Elliot Chisholm (9) was invited to take part in the Raising the Bar event at the Ruddock Arts Centre in Birmingham after he sent in a video highlighting his drama skills to organisers.
Elliot, of Borough Road, who was born moderate to severally deaf, said: “It was great fun – much better than I expected and I really enjoyed it.”
Despite being told that because of his severe deafness it was likely he would never talk properly, the youngster now confidently holds conversations with those around him.
His mother Laura said: “Without his special hearing aids he can’t hear a thing. They are amazing.”
A pupil at Kingscourt School, near Catherington, Elliot was one of 32 children from across the UK selected to take part in the event run by the charities Music and the Deaf, Deaf Men Dancing and Deafinitely Theatre.
