The Windmill Players in Clanfield performed a pantomime of the classic tale of Puss in Boots.
From the beginning, Queen Camilla, the very first (Peter Colley) captured the audience’s attention with her humour and outlandish outfits, and brother Jim the Jester (Jane Scott) had some funny tales to tell.
Mr Colley has performed with the Windmill Players on many occasions and he certainly knows how to come across as a hilarious and seductive Queen while engaging the audience.
Dim, trying, at times very trying (Tom Barham) and Wit, sees sense (Will Barham) were the purrfect comedic duo and their uncle Cedric, the scheming chamberlain (Paul Willcox), was the most convincing villain with his hidden scheme.
The appearance of Nastycoff, the nicest ogre in the land (John Dalby) appeared at random at first but quickly became an amusing addition to the cast.
The dancers from Whitestone School of Dance were lovely to watch and it was great to have their performances in-between scenes to break up the panto.
Shout outs also to Tom, the would-be Marquis of Carabas (Claire Murray), Puss, a very remarkable cat (Evie Tanner) and Princess Louise (Sophie Keefe).
Such a fun and amusing panto to kick-off January!
