To mark International Women’s Day, Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery is hosting a special play for one day only!

A live performance of the five-star reviewed Chopped Liver and Unions, will run on Saturday, March 8. Playing from 4.30pm to 6pm and then again at 7.30pm to 9pm.

It tells the story of Sara Wesker, who led a groundbreaking 12-week strike in the garment industry in 1928 and years later, she fought at the historic Battle of Cable Street.

The synopsis reads: “At the heart of the play is a real woman who had a scandalous love life, suffered a broken heart and has subsequently been forgotten despite all she did to invoke change and improvements for the working class, and in particular the female working class.

Chopped Liver & Unions is a play with music that includes some of the original protest songs sung by Sara's singing strikers.”

The OffFest nominated play is one not to be missed, and has sold out in New York, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in theatres across the UK.
