‘LET’S make this the best one yet’ was their rally cry to parents and supporters the day before the big event.
And it looks like the Friends of Buriton Primary School achieved that aim judging by the size of the crowds on the recreation ground.
Members decided to flex their muscles on Saturday, July 7, as this year’s Buriton School Fete had a sport and fitness theme.
A fitness demonstration and tug-of-war challenge featuring Steve’s Gladiator Fitness Team pulled in the crowds while young footballers were put to the test in a beat the goalie competition.
The event also featured dozens of stalls, fantastic raffle prizes and lots of food and drink options with a barbecue and Pimm’s tent both attracting big numbers of customers.
Live music, football, tennis and a tombola were among the other attractions, with the day raising a healthy sum for school funds.
