A charity which supports vulnerable families either side of Butser has served up a treat to its amazing team of volunteers.
HomeStart Butser threw a Volunteers Celebration Lunch in the garden of its Petersfield office in recognition of their service to the charity and community.
Around 80 guests tucked into food prepared by the team with the celebration coinciding with National Volunteers’ Week.
The event was a chance for charity bosses to highlight the contribution made by volunteers who support Petersfield-area families dealing with a range of issues from depression and debt to bereavement and abuse.
Nicola Winter, scheme manager, called National Volunteers Week the perfect opportunity to thank the team.
She said: “We are so proud of our wonderful volunteers and the contribution they make in supporting parents locally.
“This week gives us the perfect chance to let them know how special they all are, but it’s also the ideal opportunity to raise awareness for anyone else in the community who might feel inspired to join the team.”
She added: “Being a parent has never been easy and it can be lonely, frustrating, heartbreaking and overwhelming. HomeStart Butser has stood alongside families when they need us most.”
Volunteering opportunities range from visiting families to trustee and office roles, if you would like to get involved then visit either www.homestart-butser.org.uk or email [email protected]
Volunteers trained to become a home-visitor will be matched with a local family to visit and support for two hours, once a week.
