VISITORS to South Harting hit the Bank Holiday jackpot with one of the Festivities highlights being a human fruit machine.
Hundreds thronged the streets for the popular annual event, now in its 54th years, which also featured a mini carousel, have-a-go pottery, a grand raffle and traditional activities, including hook-a-duck.
The Horndean Band and the Jazz Magic trio provided the music, and stalls laden with crafts, plants, cakes and artworks lined the main street. Families enjoyed games outside the church, organised by the Rural Refugee Network. A space-themed fancy dress competition and a dog show went down well too.
Rhys Williams, chairman of the Harting Festivities committee said:?“Everyone is saying it is one of the busiest we’ve seen.”
The proceeds, usually around £5,000 to £6,000, go to local projects.
