Transition Haslemere has formed a partnership with Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN) to offer residents support to improve their homes’ energy efficiency.
Many people want to make their houses more energy efficient to help the environment and to make them more warm and comfortable.
Emissions from our homes are a significant contributor to our overall carbon footprint.
The desire for efficiency has become even more urgent with the dramatic rise in energy prices.
But it is not easy to know where to start, who to trust and what resources are available.
This is where the new partnership comes in.
Transition Haslemere is promoting and providing a local contact point for PeCAN’s programme that includes energy efficiency tips, information on funding and finance, and arranging for a professional independent survey and tailored plan of improvements.

Retrofitting improvements can include loft and cavity wall insulation, solar panels and exchanging gas or oil burners for heat pumps.
Eleanor Grace of Transition Haslemere and Peter Moss of PeCAN gave a presentation to Haslemere Town Council before its meeting last Thursday.
Councillors were generally positive with town mayor Jacquie Keen suggesting the scheme be presented to residents at a town meeting.
PeCAN, an environmental charity set up by Petersfield residents, has teamed up with the National Energy Foundation, SuperHomes and local professional retrofit coordinators to create its programme.
It already extends beyond Petersfield to Fernhurst, Linchmere, Liphook and Grayshott.
Haslemere residents can find out more by going to the websites of Transition Haslemere (transitionhaslemere.org) or PeCAN (petersfieldcan.org).
