THE OVEN gloves were well and truly off as Greatham Primary School gathered together its wooden spoons and whisks for its annual version of the Great British Bake Off.
The Great Greatham Festive Bake Off whipped cooks of all ages into action on a day last month.
And it was all the more memorable as it was held in the month in which the BBC screened its last Bake Off – a festive episode – before its move to Channel Four this year.
The event, which ran alongside a Salvation Army carol concert, had three categories.
The Infant Bake was open to anyone in school years reception to two. Parent input was allowed, but the ideas for the bakes came from the children.
Junior Bake was open to youngsters in Years three to 6, with parents able to help with the ovens.
The Adult Bake was for any adult who was part of the school community.
