The Farnham & District Branch of the RNLI will present a unique opportunity to hear what lies behind Saving Lives at Sea later this year.
Four RNLI speakers will each give a short presentation on their specialist lines of work at The Spire Church, South Street, Farnham, on Friday, November 10.
This will include a rare opportunity to hear an account of the coxswain from the Hastings Lifeboat, which was tested to near-destruction on a recent call-out. This significant event was captured on video, has appeared on TV and will be shown on the evening.
Talks will also be given on the RNLI’s funding and volunteering, the lifeguards that patrol our beaches, and the design and building of the boats that save lives at sea.
The evening starts at 7pm and will include a welcome drink, as well as canapés and a well- stocked bar during the interval. Tickets cost £20 each, available by emailing [email protected]
RNLI souvenirs and Christmas cards will also be on sale. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the RNLI.
