Supporters of a Petersfield school have given a masterclass in fundraising by throwing a festival for families and future pupils.

Herne Fest 24 was a superb community event featuring live music, great food, drink and lots of fun and games.

The June 14 event at Herne Junior School included two sets by acclaimed local band Black Cherry Jam and entertainment from the school’s choir, HAFS DJ and Hybrid Gym.

The fire engine was a hot attraction while youngsters tried their hand at archery, a penalty shoot-out and a variety of games from CM Sports.

There were also classic cars and a bouncy castle while several teachers found themselves in the stocks during the event sponsored by Sky Park Farm, who are also holding a series of exciting events over the summer.

The event was organised by the Herne Association of Families and Staff for the school’s families and to welcome incoming Year 2 children.
