Every dog has its day: and they don’t come bigger than this Sunday for a thriving school on The Hangers.

This weekend is a massive one for Froxfield CoE Primary School as their biggest annual fundraising event of the year will take place in Privett.

A host of local and national businesses have donated more than 50 generous raffle prizes for their fayre at the Fawley Farm Feeds Horse & Dog Show.

Everyone from cafes to cinemas, football clubs to farm parks and retailers to restaurants have pledged their support for the 10am to 4pm event at the Fawley Farm Feeds showground.

The annual show has grown sixfold since being started by Andrea Povey in 2014 with six horses.

It’s now a large community event with more than 300 horses, a sizeable dog show, food stands, a licensed bar and retail stalls with Froxfield CofE Primary School’s summer fayre being a central part of the day.

The fayre also features a circus workshop, donkey rides, traditional children’s games, toddler soft play, fairground rides and a bouncy castle.

Last year’s event raised £3,500 and helped the school to repair its outdoor musical instruments, build an outdoor play boat and install durable picnic benches.

This year’s proceeds will help the Friends of Froxfield School Association (FoFS) to cover transport costs for swimming and school trips and musical education.

Raffle tickets will be able to purchase on the day at the entrance to the fayre, look out for the balloon arch.
