The Liberal Democrats have formally launched Dominic Martin’s campaign to be East Hampshire’s next MP.
Mr Martin told the Post and Herald he “felt a real buzz” after getting his campaign show on the road in Petersfield.
He said: “It’s clear that people across East Hampshire believe the government is out of touch, and it is time for change.”
“We have talked to around 9000 people across the constituency on doorsteps and in communities. People are very disillusioned after years of scandal and chaos.
“Our message to voters is that we can win here and help bring constructive debate and integrity back to national politics.
He added: “More Lib Dems in Parliament will also mean a stronger voice ensuring urgent action to repair our NHS, end sewage dumping and tackle the cost of living.
“For my part I promise to listen to and represent all the people of East Hampshire, whether you are a hairdresser in Horndean, a farmer in Froxfield, an artist in Alton, a care worker from Clanfield or a plumber from Petersfield.”
