THE ROWLANDS Castle Coronavirus Help Group can now offer delivered low cost ready cooked meals to those in the village who are ’shielding’ on NHS direction or are in one of the vulnerable categories.
The group was founded by members of St John’s church soon after the lockdown came into effect, and is supported by the Rowlands Castle Association, Good Neighbours and Rowlands Castle Parish Council.
A group spokesman said: “The meals will be freshly cooked and chilled before delivery, and they can be kept in the fridge for up to three days, and microwaved to heat them.
“They can also be frozen and then later thawed and microwaved.
“We are currently gauging interest for this generous ‘at cost’ offer made by a local catering company, and supported by Flick Drummond, our MP.
“If there is sufficient interest then we hope to start the service within the next week.
“Stay safe and please take up this very generous offer if you are in one of the at-risk groups, and please tell your neighbours or friends about this scheme if it could be helpful to them.”
Those who would like to sign up for this service should email [email protected] or contact 07895 368589.
