NatWest might be coming back to Petersfield in a new form after the closure of its branch on the High Street last month.

The bank is looking at the option of providing a mobile banking service for its customers. At present, NatWest provides certain services at the library every Tuesday from 10am to 3pm.

A NatWest spokesperson said: “We are seeking to provide a mobile bank stop in Petersfield. At present, we are working through the logistics of implementing this, and we hope to be able to communicate more to customers soon.

“In the meantime, we provide our customers with more ways to bank than ever before – customers can choose from a range of digital, face-to-face and local banking options.”

The town clerk commented: “The Council would welcome NatWest bringing mobile banking services to the town, following the recent closure of the Petersfield branch. As this will enable those who are unable to bank online to receive an in-person service.”
