A CARE home with a community ethos has opened in Liss.
Blenheim Court care home in Farnham Road opened its doors on Monday.
Blenheim Court senior operations manager Annelli Chatfield said: “We’re welcoming anyone to come and visit the home.
“The home is now open all the time, including evenings and weekends, and people can drop by whenever.”
As well as being open to residents, Blenheim Court is opening its doors to the community.
Annelli said: “We feel really strongly that the local community should be able to access space in the home as much as people living here.
“We have some strong links with the Triangle Centre, and we’re looking to use this space as a community environment. The bistro, the beauty salon, the bar and the cinema will all be open to the community.”
Blenheim Court is now complete, and took a few years to come to fruition.
Annelli added: “It was in 2014 when was the first time we saw the site and we’re delighted with the final result. It couldn’t have gone better.”
Blenheim Court is also on the lookout for more staff.
Annelli explained: “As a new home we’re recruiting because the home will grow.
“We have our start-up team in place, but we’re always recruiting and that won’t stop for a long time.”
Blenheim Court will be holding a 1950s style vintage afternoon tea with a bake sale from 3-5pm tomorrow (Friday) to raise funds for the Liss Triangle Centre.
Another community event will be an Easter Egg hunt in the grounds of Blenheim Court from 1-3pm on Saturday, March 31.
