PETERSFIELD Mayor James Deane was the guest of honour at the unveiling of the new look Tesco in Petersfield.

To celebrate the completion of the store refurbishment, Clle Dean cut the ribbon to open the revamped store off The Causeway.

As well as moving and renewing counters, more customer self service tills have been installed.

A Tesco spokesman said: “As well as the ribbon cutting ceremony, we had a Ukulele Band led by John Lucas which went down very well with our customers.

“The store refresh means we now sell clothes in store, and the bakery was completely refurbished.

“The deli counters have been moved and renewed, as have the customer toilets so there is now far more front of store space.

“There is also a complete new produce area, and in the car park, where this a great car wash, the trolley bays have all been replaced and the path at the side of the store has been completed.”
