Perins School in Alresford said “the resilience of our Year 11 pupils has shone through” following the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
They are celebrating outstanding GCSE exams, with 22 per cent achieving results at the top 9 to 7 grades and 77 per cent earning five or more passes at grades 9 to 4.
Some 88 per cent of pupils achieved grade 4 or higher in English, and 80 per cent in mathematics.
Every pupil taking separate sciences or citizenship achieved grade 4 or above. More than 80 per cent achieved grade 4 or higher in business studies, computer science, drama, economics, English language and literature, history, mathematics, media and physical education.
Some 70 per cent of pupils entered the English Baccalaureate exam and there was an increase in the proportion who passed.
Head boy Elden Organ achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8. He was also identified by exam board OCR as achieving the highest mark nationally in its citizenship exam.
Elizabeth Moorhouse and Samuel Venner both achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s.
