Petersfield Town Council has been making incredible strides in transforming the town’s landscape with community-driven planting projects.

A major highlight was the Bell Hill Corporate and Community Planting Days, where volunteers, community members, and The Tree Council’s corporate partners joined forces to plant an astonishing 793 trees and hedgerow whips!

Another success was the Front Garden Tree Planting Initiative, which sparked amazing enthusiasm from residents - leading to 97 applications for new trees.

These trees will be distributed during the PeCAN Festival of Trees - a wonderful event for the whole family. For more details, visit Festival of Trees.

A Town Council spokesperson said: “These achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic support of Hampshire Forest Partnership, The Tree Council, and Petersfield Tree Wardens. Their expertise, resources, and dedication have been instrumental in making these projects a reality.

“This collective effort exemplifies Petersfield Town Council’s unwavering commitment to nature recovery, biodiversity, and climate action. The result is a greener, more vibrant Petersfield—one where community spirit and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

“These planting initiatives are more than just milestones; they are part of a long-term vision to nurture a resilient and sustainable town.”
