There was singing in Dortmund, Derby and Dover last Wednesday evening as England secured their place in the Euro2020 final.

But the sweetest sounds were heard in Petersfield as a knockout concert in St Peter’s raised £905 for a lifesaving charity.

The sound was pitch-perfect when the Petersfield Community Choir performed their Sounds of Summer concert in aid of the RNLI.

They sang their hearts out for new musical director Ysanne Bonner with a diverse setlist which included African ditties and traditional sea songs.

Guest artist Hannah Sandu provided support with the singer, pianist, teacher and music director singing five songs from musicals dating from the 1950s to the current day.

Mayor of Petersfield, Cllr JC Crissey, joined in with the fun along with the chair and secretary of the local RNLI fundraising branch.

The audience added their vocals to the encore to conclude a memorable night both inside and outside the church.
