Petersfield Lions Club has thanked the people of Petersfield for supporting its fundraising projects so generously over Christmas.
Lions vice-president Trevor Copping said: “Our High Street collection on December 14 raised £299.
“Including our Tesco collection, envelope collections, tombolas, online contributions and other donations, in total £4,331 was raised during the festive period.
“This will enable us to support those in fuel poverty, food banks and to help those in need in the Petersfield area.
“And this is at a time when those less fortunate are in genuine need.
“We also provided funding for some Christmas parcels for the elderly.”
Among the fundraising activities over the festive season, the Lions also had a stall at Petersfield Christmas Festival in the High Street on December 11 (pictured right).
During the day volunteers also collected boxes of chocolates for the PACT food bank, and accepted Lions Christmas Appeal envelopes.
The Petersfield Lions Club stall with a fundraising tombola was also at the Petersfield Christmas lights switch-on on Friday, November 25.
