AFTER the sad death of her son at her Petersfield home, a mother has given a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped during his final fortnight.
Outdoors loving Nicholas Stuart (56) died peacefully at his mother Ava’s home in Montague Gardens on Sunday, December 11.
Ava said: “Nick wanted to die at home, and it was thanks to all those who helped look after him that it was possible. My doctor in Petersfield put the wheels in motion, and was very helpful and kind.
“The community care team at Petersfield Hospital led by Michael Hancock-Martinisi were incredible, they delivered lots of equipment for Nick, and visited regularly and took everything away afterward.
“The Rosemary Foundation team were fantastic, and treated Nick with great dignity and were very kind to me as well, and after Nick died they were prepared to come and talk and listen.
“I was amazed at the kindness there was, and it is all voluntary, or through the NHS, and everyone treated Nick with the greatest dignity, care and consideration and I can’t thank them enough.
“These wonderful people are there for everyone who needs them and deserve our support and gratitude for the caring and dignified service they provide.”
