A developer is after feedback after announcing plans to build 85 homes on the edge of Petersfield.
Independent housebuilder Dandara is keen to develop the Buckmore Farm site originally earmarked for self-build housing in the Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan.
Interest in that designation seems to have waned over the last decade with doubts being cast over the likelihood and demand for a large self-build development.
But the site east of the A3 remains earmarked for housing with Dandara keen to get moving. The firm has set an ambitious timeline for its ‘Buckmore Green’ development and hopes to start work this winter, with a summer 2025 launch.
Their “landscape-led development” will contain a mix of one to four-bedroom homes with some affordable housing. Detailed plans are on their way but feedback is being sought from the Bell Hill community, with a drop-in session taking place at Petersfield Community Centre from 3pm to 7.30pm this Friday, April 26.
Paul Ebbs, regional director at Dandara Southern, believes the development will be ideal for families, first-time buyers and young professionals, alike.
He added: “This development is a significant enhancement for Petersfield, bringing in several new job opportunities.
“Situated in an ideal commuter spot, the location offers convenient access to train links, all while providing the serenity of the countryside.”
