The man who has represented East Hampshire in parliament for 14 years has taken to the road for his latest General Election campaign.

Around 60 people were in the audience at Four Marks village hall last Wednesday when Damian Hinds begun a programme of public meetings.

The Conservative hopeful was also due to appear at last night’s hustings in Alton Community Centre with his schedule including meetings in Preston Candover, Selborne, Liss, Rowlands Castle, East Meon and Bentley.

“I see public meetings as an important part of our democracy – it’s about listening to people and being accountable,” said the Tory.

“Email and social media are part of our lives these days and they’ve had a growing role in politics and campaigning, too, but there is nothing quite like traditional hustings and candidates’ public meetings.”

Meetings will take place tomorrow (Friday) in Clanfield and Horndean, visit www.damianhinds.com for more details.
