PETERSFIELD Salvation Army is hosting a Proms of Praise to celebrate its 130th birthday.
Steve Field, of Petersfield Salvation Army, said: “It starts at noon, with stalls and activities, and from 1pm there will be music.
“We are also inviting people to bring a picnic and join us for a rousing hour long Proms of Praise that ends about 4.30pm.”
The party on Saturday, June 11, is being held in grounds of The Petersfield School, and prom goers are invited to bring flags and banners.
Steve said: “All the proms songs like Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and the National Anthem, will be sung to also celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.”
Tickets will cost £5 for a family on foot; there will also be parking, and a full car will also cost £5.
Petersfield Salvation Army first met in 1886 in a warehouse in Swan Street.
Its home now, still in Swan Street, is a hall built originally to seat 200 people.
