The evening of non-stop music, song and laughter started with Karen Bizzell performing her tribute to Dame Shirley Bassey (pictured bottom right).
Karen is a top tribute performer who appears in the UK, Europe and the Caribbean as well as Petersfield!
Her incredible performance and voice had the crowd singing along.
West End legend Tiffaney Wells then had the room in raptures with her comedy, wonderful musical ability and lots of audience participation.
A Londoner, Tiffaney now lives on St Mary’s Island on the River Medway in Kent with her husband and manager Raymond.
This was a fifth show at the Half Moon in aid of the Petersfield charity that supports young parents and families struggling to cope.
Tiffaney’s first appearance at the pub came through her friendship with local family man Robert Ingrams who, when he semi-retired, began raising money for the charity.
Rob loves London shows, met Tiffaney, and she brought her act to his home.
“It was Rob’s 60th birthday, and it was such a wonderful evening – lots of fun,” said Tiffaney.
He then persuaded her a charity gig at the Half Moon would sell out – it did, as have all the subsequent ones.
And the big-wigged (she makes her own) and big-hearted singer and comedienne more used to theatre audiences says the pub venue is “fantastic.”
And although the audience was mixed, it’s mainly women who love Tiffaney’s take on life.
“It’s one of the best shows I do every year – the audience are so relaxed, totally with the show. It’s lovely,” said Tiffaney (pictured left with Rob Ingrams).
Rob added: “This show is certainly unique among Petersfield entertainment offerings and – in response to ever-growing demand – will be back next year.”
This is one of a series of events organised by Rob and Chris Pellet with the Half Moon and for the drag evening, the support of great volunteer helpers from Petersfield Theatre Group.
Home-Start Butser fundraising events at the popular family pub this year have included virtual ‘dine at home’ events during lockdown.
There was then a three-week music and theatre festival in July using the pub’s beer garden as the venue.
And combined with the drag evening, the events have raised more than £15,000 for the charity this year.
The next fundraisers are Burns Night Ceilidhs on January 28 and 29, previously held at Churcher’s College, and St Patrick’s Night Craic on March 19.
