PUPILS at Petersfield Infant School in St Peters Road filled 143 shoe boxes to be delivered to underprivileged children and adults in eastern Europe.

Along with 68 boxes delivered to the school from elsewhere, the youngsters loaded 211 boxes into a delivery van for the Link to Hope charity, which has been delivering presents overseas since 1991.

Its mission is to combat poverty through education.

School headteacher Allyson Crew said: “We would like to thank everyone who has ever donated to this very worthwhile cause.”
