FUNDRAISING can be an uphill challenge, but perhaps supporters of Hambledon Primary School are taking things a little too literally.

That’s because dozens of athletes will take to the lanes and bridleways around the village this Saturday, September 16, in the Hambledon Hilly event.

The event, which is being held in aid of the school, features a 1km and 2.5km run for children and a 10km course for adults which takes in the infamous climb up Glidden Lane.

The starting pistol will be fired at the village hall with the children’s and adults’ races beginning at 10am and 11am, respectively.

This year’s race promises to be the biggest and best yet with new trophies being handed out for individual age categories.

Post-race entertainment is also being expanded while all entrants will receive medals and a goody bag on finishing their run.

This year’s event is being sponsored by Eric Robinson Solicitors with support from Rebalance Pilates.

Registration is possible on the day but early entry is encouraged by those planning to take part.
