SANTA will launch a festive mission to light up faces around Alton this weekend as he’s hitting the streets in his illuminated sleigh.

Santa’s sparkling eco-friendly Sleigh will begin its rounds this weekend, heralding the start of a nine-day bid to visit as much of Alton as possible.

His reindeer are chomping at the bit to get started with lucky residents of Barley Fields, Claines Street and Garstons Way in Holybourne being first to get a visit from 4.45pm this Saturday.

Its journey will take in the town’s seasonal activities on Sunday, December 10 with the Alton Lions Club delighted to continue the tradition.

“This is very much a community event and we would welcome support from anyone who would like to come on board and join in the fun,” said president, Moira Baker.
