PUPILS and staff at Sheet Primary School are celebrating after receiving a prestigious Gold Artsmark Award.
Artsmark is Arts Council England’s award for schools which champion the arts and strive for excellence. It celebrates schools who embrace the arts across their curriculum.
In order to become an Artsmark school, Sheet Primary School had to develop its arts and culture provision to achieve a broad and balanced curriculum. This was achieved by creating an overall plan which was committed to and delivered across the whole school.
On receiving the award, headteacher Julie Robinson said: “We are extremely proud of achieving our Artsmark Gold Award.
“We are committed to delivering a high quality art and cultural education and we look forward to continuing to grow with Artsmark.
“I would like to thank all the staff, and Mrs Deuble in particular for her hard work in helping us to achieve this award.”
Darren Henley, chief executive of Arts Council England, said: “I would like to congratulate Sheet Primary School on their Gold award.
“Sheet exemplifies how the award can help schools to achieve a broad and balanced curriculum.”
