The good life will be celebrated in a village near Petersfield over the coming days as two annual events in Sheet will showcase the best of the community.
The focus will be on gardens, grand designs and good food with the Sheet Association kicking things off this Friday.
The group will hold its Annual General Meeting in the village hall on 7pm with a treat lined-up for green-thinking villagers.
The evening will begin with a talk by the internationally renowned and multi award-winning garden designer Ann Marie Powell before a short meeting is held to re-elected trustees and working committee.
Refreshments will be served while all members of the Sheet community are welcome to attend.
There’s another appealing event for villagers on Saturday as apple pressing will take place from 2pm to 4pm this Saturday at Petersfield Community Garden.
Thirsty guests can bring their own apples and a container to the garden off Waterworks Road to get fresh juice straight off the press.
Visitors are welcome to look around with a log fire and tastings being provided along with tea and cake.
There is no entry fee but donations will be appreciated, email[email protected]for more details.
Meanwhile, Sheet Parish Council has sadly confirmed it cannot convert the classic red phone box on the green into “Ron’s Reading Room” in memory of the late SPC chairman Ron Dark.
The BT phone box is no longer available for adoption as its being retained because of poor mobile signal in the area.
