A planning chief at the authority which decides where housing can be built around much of East Hampshire will talk to a Petersfield audience next Wednesday (June 5).

Interest is building in the One Tree Books event as Mike Hughes, interim director of planning at the South Downs National Park Authority, will be the guest speaker at their monthly meeting.

Mr Hughes will talk about the vision, aims and objectives of the SDNPA and what difficulties and opportunities it provides.

He will look at the various conflicting views about the future of the Park and will talk about the role of the authority in making and influencing planning decisions.

The non-political meeting will take from 1.30pm to 2.45pm at the Lavant Street bookshop, free entry with no booking required.
