ACCIDENTS and strong winds have caused problems for East Hampshire residents on the roads and rails this lunchtime.

Police have closed the A3 south of the Longmoor Junction as a lorry overturned at the Ham Barn roundabout around noon.

A clean-up operation was been launched as diesel leaked onto the carriageway following the accident, which has blocked most of the road.

Train services between Guildford and Petersfield were also suspended for part of the morning after strong winds brought a tree down on the line between Petersfield and Rowlands Castle.

The tree has been removed but delays are expected to services for the next few hours.
