POLICE have issued a safety warning to shop and business owners in East Hampshire following a spate of overnight burglaries in Liss.
Cash was stolen from the Spread Eagle in Farnham Road following a break-in around 4.50am last Tuesday (August 8).
The burglary, which has been linked to two more in the village, meant the West Liss pub was unable to open for lunch service.
The culprits are suspected of further breaks-ins at a food outlet and Indian restaurant in Station Road around the same period.
Cash was stolen on both occasions with the incidents taking place between 10pm last Monday and 7am the following day.
Police have urged shopkeepers to protect themselves from loss by making sure to remove money from their tills before closing up.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time as vehicle movements, Ring Door or dash-cam footage might aid them with enquiries.
