CHILDREN will dress up in superhero masks and capes they have decorated themselves to travel a mile in aid of research into cancer.

The Cancer Research UK shop in Petersfield High Street has teamed up with Dottie Tots Nursery School in Buriton and Buriton Primary School, to stage the sponsored Marvellous Mile at Buriton Recreation Ground on November 11 at 9.30am.

It is being organised by Dottie Tots owner Karen Burrows, and children can walk, skip, ride or be pushed to complete their mile.

The money the children raise will be donated to Stand Up To Cancer, a campaign by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 which aims to speed up progress in life-saving cancer research by accelerating laboratory developments into new tests and treatments, with the target of ensuring three in four people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034.
