A hole load of frustrations have been aired over the quality of highway repairs on a notorious road in Petersfield.
The town’s new mayor, Cllr Lesley Farrow, has criticised the quality of recent pothole repairs on Durford Road.
She told Hampshire County Council representative, Cllr Russell Oppenheimer at PTC’s recent meeting that repairs on the road are already showing signs of “wear and tear” and claimed the work has not been carried out properly.
Cllr Oppenheimer, who was re-appointed to HCC’s Cabinet in late September as Executive Member for Health & Wellbeing, told town councillors he was disappointed to hear about the “shoddy” repairs and would make enquiries.
He said: “I am sorry on behalf of HCC if the repairs weren’t carried out to the right standard.
“I will pass this feedback on to the head of the Petersfield department – it’s not a period of high stress so this shouldn’t happen.”
