Tilford is a divided village as a swollen River Wey has burst its banks following a weekend of rain.
Tilford Street has been closed until further notice with residents facing a long detour to get from the school, green and Barley Mow to the village shop.
One resident the Herald spoke to at 12.30pm today (Monday, January 6) said she had never seen the river so high with water levels reaching the 7ft marker.
The B3001 is also badly affected with deep surface water covering the road next to Waverley Abbey and Elstead Mill.
Both are passable with care but extreme caution is especially advised around the latter as a long section between Bridge House and the Fulbrook Lane junction is covered.
